Thanks, Colin. I just figured if I'm staring at it most days too, it might as well follow me here...

Also, to whomever named this topic, please PLEASE edit and take out the apostrophe! It denotes a possessive where there is none, as in "Al's diner" or "Blake's 7".

:)

Sorry to be a grammar hog; it's my day job...

Seth, I named the topic. "It's" is a contraction of "It is." "It is just me." It's right.

There is NEVER an apostrophe when you are using the word ITS

Oh, and Hi Colin!
That is just so not true. "It's" is a contraction of "It is." "Its" is the posseisive (going against the normal rules.) LOOK IT UP.

It's me! (It is me.)
Its name. (The thing's name.)

TRUST ME ON THIS. Or better yet, look it up. Or... ask Scott Pollak, the grammar king. (Where is he by the way... he needs to join here.)

Oh and Hi... KatsVoice... is that you Kat? If so, I'll withdraw the ruler I've just slapped down on the desk.

That would be true if it was INTRODUCTION IS, maybe (as seen in "the introduction's a stepping stone to getting to know someone"), but not in this case.

In this case, it is the plural form of INTRODUCTION. Therefore, one S, no apostrophe.

and yes there are times when you should use apostrophes in ITS.

"It's alive!"

"It's Monty Python's Flying Circus"

"It's in the way that you use it"

"It's not over 'till it's over"

and

"It's coming this way!"

are but a few examples...

ITS should never have an apostrophe when used in a possessive form.
