Hi there! Elie Hirschman, artistic voiceover talent here! I hail (currently) from the New Jersey/NYC metro area. Much of my involvement in voiceover and voice acting has been through Yahoo Groups, forums, craigslist, voices.com, voice123.com and promotion of my website.
Character voices (not impersonations) and accents are my specialty, but unfortunately the demand for these in not as high in paid jobs as it is in fun "fo-free" productions. check out my website http://www.eliehirschman.com - I'd love any pointers or tips that anyone cares to share. Cheers! |

You're in a good VO area... I know there's less animation work there, but there are good agents there, and I think they're easier to get into in NYC than in LA. If you get in with a good agency there, you should do well.
Funny, I'm AWFUL at character voices! But I participated in Pat Fraley's Cartoon Voice workshop when we taught together in Tahoe (just for grins, really confirmed how bad I am at it!) and he's really good. He can take raw talent and season it to perfection! I'd love you to come here...but more realistically... Pat travels there to NYC to do workshops on occasion... Of course, you have to weigh cost against travel. The workshp he's doing with me is $595... the one he does in NYC is $2000. He does same workshops...but has to travel so much farther to do it there...and then there's the host's cut. But I hope you can train Pat sometime. He's AMAZING!

Hi Elie,
Welcome to the forums. Look forward to hearing some of your schtick. I love character voices and would like to learn more about them and where to find the work. Sounds like Pat Fraley's the man to see. Too bad you are on the other coast. My son will be going to school in New Jersey Next month..any places he should avoid or see? Cheers, JR |
