Default "Howdy" From Houston, TX

We don't really say howdy, (Much) but I thought it an appropriate greeting for the board.

VO "Semi-Newbie" from Houston. Long career in Radio/televison, semi-serious for a long time about VO. Now very seriuos. Thus the "semi" conotation...

Looking forward to chatting and "meeting' one and all for encouragement and VO friendship...

Take care all...

Hi Scott,
Do you have an agent in Houston? Denise at Actor's Etc. has gotten me more auditions and more work than any other agent I have right now (I usually get my own work.)

If you want to contact her about representation, it's probably best to email her since she's so busy and taking time on telephone is difficult right now. In fact, I produced a demo for one of her talent, and she hasn't had time to listen to them yet for approval!

BUT it's a GOOD thing that she's so busy... I get several auditions a day from her! And I don' t have to be the first to submit in order to audition!!!!

Hi Julie, and thanks for the nice welcome.

I do not as yet have an agent in Houston. BUT, once Bettye finishes my demo, I will of course be submitting it to both Actors and to Pastorini for their consideration. I even have the letters written and the envelope addressed, complete with business cards I currently use. I've done the same for an agent in Austin.

It's getting closer and closer. Baby steps to success. (sounds like a good title for a VO class...)

As part of the "home course work" I've recently ordered a couple of books/CD's I saw on Pat Fraleys site. They are The Gypsy's Guide to The Business of Voiceover and 56 Slick Tricks for Voice Over. Each contains a workbook and CD. Can't wait to meet him at one of his workshops. Of course, I can't wait to one day finally meet you. Your book & CD's were the first I bought when I made the decision to stop thinking about it and start the process of becoming a VO person. Thru you I met James Alburger and Penny Abshire. Thru them I met Bettye Zoller. You, and the others, have always been very supportive and encouraging towards my quest. Now if we, (as in Houston) could just attract and maintain people who can teach and guide the interested VO person. I'd do it, but at this stage of my career I'm only an educated moron. LOL Know a lot from books, and some experience, but have no right to act as I know what I'm talking about.

I am looking forward to receiving your updated CD.

I love the forum, and have passed on the info to others. In fact, your site has been a topic elsewhere, so don't be surprised to see an influx of registrations...

Thanks for providing a nice forum where we feel safe and can keep our sanity...

Hey Scoot,
WHy don' t you join both Pat and I in Sacramento next month?

Info at http://www.voice-overs.com/images/Wh...Sacramento.pdf \

The workshop is filling more slowly than I had hoped...which is pretty strange because people are constantly asking me to hold a workshop--then there's always a reason not to attend!!!!\

I'd love to work with you, and I can tell you... Pat's awesome to work with! A TRUE pro!

You should have your CD any time... they were all shipped out on Thursday from Sacramento.
