If you have a computer that can boot up and run, more than likely you'll be ok just don't run a lot of programs while recording. Don't forget your local craigslist for great buys on computers.

I have to echo Paul's comments on Basso voices. Unfortunately there are more big pretty voices then there are jobs for them. I know personally two great voices here in LA that can not get an agent. Everywhere they go they hear "we have more then enough." I'll hold any further comment until I hear your voice, but I will say don't rest on the bass, work on range in your voice, and acting. Because if you can act, you'll have a chance.
