Default Back in the swing . . .

Hey howdy hey fellow Voicians! Some might remember me, but most probably have chosen not to retain the thought of me in their minds. Choosing rather to remember more important things like How many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootie-pop -- Mysteries of the world and universe I say.

With this in mind, I shall once again introduce myself to the forum. My name is Clinton. I live in Knoxville Tn and have been in Voice acting for about a year. Only about 6 months on this has been dedicated to really getting jobs. However, God has blessed. Right now I am the voice for an advertising firm here in Knoxville and have done some work with the tourism board on highlighting local historical landmarks. Also, I am the host of a weekly sports show dedicated to a real time strategy game that is played during football games. Basically the fans watch the game and try to anticipate what type of play is coming next -- Pass, Run, etc. For my portion I am the host of their weekly webcast that highlights games and strategies that might be effective in getting a better score at the game. Right now they have 10 million users playing the game online and at local restaurants that facilitate the consols, but only a percentage (very small) are confirmed listeners of the cast. But, none the less it is a good gig.

I have been beating the hedges and working away, but voice work isn't all that is going on in my life

I am happy to say that I just baught my first HOME!!!! WHooo Hooo!!! It is a great starter home and very excited about it.

Also, I am fixing to ask my girlfriend to marry me on the 3rd of July! (SHHHhhhh . . . she doesn't know ) I just baught the ring last night and will be getting out of debtors prison just in time for the wedding lol

Anyway, that is what has been going on in my world of late; how about you all? Whats been shakin' besides the voice box?

Thank you so much Steve. I am very excited. I don't intend to stay in this house for long, probably 5 years or so, however, as for the wife, well she is here to stay lol

Hey there, Clinton! Welcome back. I certainly do remember you. Congrats on your VO success! Sounds like things are really moving along for you and that's great! Congrats also on the home and the marriage thing. I'm really really happy for you! It's always wonderful to hear when things are going well with folks. Keep us posted on the proposal, huh?

Clinton - Welcome back. And congrats on all of your firsts! I'm curious about this statement. They offer your voice to all of their clients?

Just wanted to add that if you don't know Clinton, I know him to be one heck of a nice guy.

Yes, in a way. I am considered a free lancer (kind of staff -- they keep my demos and when customers come in and talk about needing VO's I am their Voice Artist on staff.) It was an idea I approached them with and sold them on. It has brought me some business. Most smaller marketing firms want to sound big and to say they have a VO on staff sounds like a major corp. At least that is how I sold them on the idea. Most of the customers leave it up to the agency to sift through the talent. If you have a nice variety you can do, they like to work with the same people routinely.

Wow, thanks Colin! That is really nice of you to say.

I can say that a huge factor in getting the jobs I have gotten is because of the Demo you put together for me. I have gotten a lot of complements from other VO's on the production. And of course I give them your info. Thanks again man.
