Default Hi From Toronto!

Just joined up, actually found this forum when I was searching for reviews on voices.com, it just so happened I noticed that Jodi Krangle was a member here, she runs a songwriting board I am a longtime member of, so I figured I'd check you guys out

I honestly don't yet know what my goals are in voice-over. I just think I have a talent not only for speaking succinctly but I like to think I'm quite good at accents, characterizations and funnier, goofier stuff. I know I won't strike it rich over night (or ever more than likely) but it just seems like there's some fun opportunities that I might get lucky on. I guess my "dream" gig would be a cartoon or animation film, maybe video games? Though simply narrating audiobooks and stuff, and getting paid some doubloons for that seems like quite an interesting way to make a buck or two :)

I think I have the talent to take it somewhere with some guidance and training.

Any friend of Jodi's is a friend of ours. :)

Welcome!

Speaking of training, check out the VoiceLympics cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles that's happening this September. I think you'd get a nice hodgepodge of training in all those areas you mentioned. PM me for more info, or visit the website Voicelympics Cruise Workshop - Home.

Anywho, welcome!

Hello Mark, welcome to the forum. I am also based in Toronto and met Jodi on this forum back a few months ago. There is a great group of VO actors on this forum that are very helpful and responsive to any questions you may have. I am still doing the training thing myself with a couple of coaches and attending Humber for VO and ultimately working towards my next demo in the near future. Keep in touch and if I can help in anyway let me know. Good luck!

Hey there, Mark! Refresh my memory? What's your username on The Muse's Muse? Glad you could join us over here! (For those interested, I do occasionally mention my VO stuff on both the message boards on my songwriting website and in the monthly newsletter.)

We have got to get a gathering together of Toronto VO folks for a social event of some kind ... That would be awesome.

Hi Mark,

I'm new to the boards myself. Nice to see the T.O. element here is strong!

I have similar goals, in that I just need to find a way to put all these voices in my head to work :)
