Hey Holly,

Yup - I'm in LA now.

You should definitely contact Funimation yourself...
Send 'em a demo or see if you can drop by and do a "go see".

I understand the pay's not high, but the work's consistent and it looks good on a resume.

Let us know how it goes,
Joe

Welcome aboard Holly. Always good to see someone else from the Metroplex here!

Thanks Mike!

Joe - you are right about the pay. Hourly rate, I think. But it is nice, consistent work for those that choose to do it. It certainly builds up the resume in no time! So, did you move out to LA for work?

Chuck, who's your agent? I actually live in Arlington, not Dallas. I just say Dallas area cuz it's more understandable to those outside of Texas.

Scott - Thanks for the compliment. Yeah, calling the kids' school is interesting until they get to know me too. :)

Holly,

It's like your voice never grew up. Very cool.
I second what Joe mentioned with regards to FUNImation. They do a ton of Anime and other English DUB stuff and I'm sure they would love to hear you. Talk with Mike McFarland or Greg Ayres. I'm sure they could lead you in the right direction.

Holly,
No agent yet, I've done Radio for the last 24 years. Just ventured out into VO work within the last 2. This year, I'm hoping to change that, I'm looking to get an agent and see if I can do more of the vo and less of the radio. I've got a top secret project in the works that is forcing me to join AFTRA and if it goes well hopefully I can do it, my syndicated show and vo and not have to work a real job to pay the bills.

... actually, I moved for Love (met my wife in Dallas - she's from LA).

She's also been instrumental in my career. Gotta love that too ;-)
