Oh...me...Alright enough of that cheekyness. Hi, I'm Tony. Been doing voice work off and on for 10 years until I made a FT go about a year ago. Background includes audio whatnot, radio, live event production, consulting, and Sr. Bruschetta Master! Everything is done from my little studio just west of Minneapolis. Looking forward to sharing with you all.

Hey there, Tony. Welcome! I'm sure there's a lot you can teach us and I look forward to hearing more about your journey. What made you make the switch from PT to FT, by the way? Any particular gig give you that final push you needed? I'm just curious. :)

Hi jodi. Thanks for the welcome. I'm always a student and these forums are such a great resource to continue my path of VO enlightenment (did I get that from a fortune cookie?). The choice to switch to FT was a long process, but there were tons of factors. The biggest for me was simply following a passion and jumping in head first. Last year more and more projects came to me out of no where that I decided to make a run at it. Oh and landing a cool gig voicing an NBA project helped.
I've heard your stuff before and being welcomed by a great talent such as yourself is terrific! I love the industry and I love these forums! |

VERY cool about that NBA project. Congratulations! I totally understand about the "jumping in head first". I did that myself, earlier this year and things are going pretty well, if I do say so myself.
Thanks for the compliment on my stuff, by the way. I really appreciate that. I'm still learning TONS - but I truly love this business and I'm enjoying every minute of it. There aren't a lot of businesses you can say that about. Keep up the great work and keep us posted on how things go!

X-L-ENT to have you here! I love this board. Great folks and ideas... tons of support and encouragement. Congrats on the NBA gig! You land that through an agent or good-ole'-fashioned networking and marketing?

Well here is a little bruschetta for you to enjoy. We were having a shingdig this evening so I thought a nice Bon Appetite style pic would be appropriate. Add a dusting of parm and extra EVOO (thank you Rachel Ray).
As for the NBA gig...well I have been fortunate to work with a production company out of OK for about 8 years now. They do a ton of diff projects, and was lucky enough to land the gig through them. It was a highlight video about the Supersonics moving to Oklahoma City. Just worked out. Did all the audio creation on it too...man that was stressful. When they give me the ok I'm going to post it. But I think there is still some litigation going on through the end of the month. So I guess the short answer is just old fashioned marketing and keeping close to someone's ear landed the gig. |
