I herewith and forthrightly resolve, in the upcoming year of 2008, to feel no shame or fear in promoting myself as a voiceover talent, attaching plugs for my voiceover business to every email and forum signature I can. I will also make sure all my friends, acquaintances and business contacts know and remember that I am a voiceover talent, ready and available for work - they will not forget me; I will not let them. I will remind them (repeatedly) that I am still here, still working, and the best voice talent for the job (whatever that job may be). Nobody ever made it in voiceovers by being shy, and therefore I shall not be so. I will be shameless.

I, Vanessa Finney, will promote my voice talent inside and out in 2008.
INSIDE includes everything to support the physical aspect of speech (and singing). This includes aerobic exercise for better capacity, musical scales for better breath and tone control, keeping the chords hydrated by drinking plenty of water and keeping alcohol and caffeine to a minimum, OUTSIDE includes attaching my business card to my email signature (check!), leaving said business cards at film festivals (documentaries), recording studios and any other place people in need of VOs go, and buying a mic filter to take care of those pesky mouth noises. I hereby firmly resolve to do what ever it takes to fulfill my dreams of being a full time voice talent/actor. I have a burning in my soul and my blood, the driving need to succeed in making this business my passion filled career. Nothing else will satisy this need. I have quit grad school to focus more intensly on this new burning desire.
I will follow the will of God down the road that he has brought me to here in this business. I will do all that I can to glorify Him with this gift that He has given me. I will follow the business plan that I have layed out. I will better myself through more training via workshops and materials purchased through various Voice Professionals. I will audition for all available/appropriate jobs as they are posted. I will push my self-marketing farther than I have before. ----- 2008 WILL BE GREAT---- Last edited by ANTNY; 12-11-2007 at 10:12 AM. |

This was too fun!
My Voice Over Resolutions for 2008 Twas the month before New Year's in my studio I wonder... how will this New Year go? Last year was spiffy, job's up the wazoo. To make next year better, there's some things I should do. Buy a new mic and a scanner for faxes. Oh how I'll add up deductions for taxes! Sound proof the place from noises that lurk, “Kids please don't flush now – Mommy's trying to work!” I'll start EVERY morning with vocal warm ups. I'll drink more water, less joe in those cups. Study my craft, read each voice over book- and not just give them a quick glancing look. Work on invoicing, networking, marketing too Take more VO classes, there's so much to do! Perhaps get an agent and land a big job, Clean up more often, cause I work like a slob. Follow up on new clients, keep my eyes on their tracks. THIS year my dear friends, you won't fall through the cracks. Give thanks every day for the client's I've got They trust their words to my voice... and that means a lot. And I'll hear them exclaim without worry or dread, You, Moe Egan, indeed are the voice in my head! ![]() |

In a time of seasonal change, I, Kelly James Ballagh, man of MANY VOICES (mainly in my head), create these resolutions to be fulfilled during 2008.
I first and formost resolve to allow the above mentioned voices to escape their cranium of creation to show the Voice Over world what they have to offer. I secondly make the resolution of becoming a hinderance, almost annoying to a degree, unto all that might be a further stepping stone into a world of Riches and Glory (or if anything, JOY)! AND thirdly, if all else falls short, I can utilize my Voice Over skills on the street corner with a sign reading "Will Make Voices for Money". But honestly, isn't it better to make money THIS WAY?!?!?!?!?! Sincerely, in all due voices, THANK YOU! - Kelly James Ballagh |

This is the time for me to act in earnest effort to pursue my dreams in voice acting, to be able to express my artistic side. I have long waited for the opportunity to have an outlet of creativity. I will be actively learning, seeking training and receiving coaching in the early 2008. Refining my skills and honing my Pipes until the sound is just right. I know the road is a long one, but to quote Henry Ford " Failure is simply an opportunity to start over again more intelligently." and to Quote a very big name in entertainment "If you can dream it, you can do it! " (Walt Disney) No challenge exists that I am not up to, if I set my mind and body to the task.
So here's to the challenge, and to the best year ever! Michael Murphy ![]()

In 2008, I, Georgette Perna, will provide more than just a “voice” to my clients. I will color my words, and give life, energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to the copy. I will bring my animation voiceover characters to life, by embracing the quirks and mannerisms in their personalities that make them loveable and real. I will dedicate the highest level of professionalism to my commercial and animation voiceover clients, and provide them with prompt and quality service. I will listen carefully to my clients, and strive to create long-lasting relationships. Most importantly, I will have fun and enjoy every moment of my voiceover career in 2008, and I will never forget the gifts I’ve been bestowed. I will truly appreciate every opportunity I have in animation voiceover to make a child laugh, an adult smile, or create awareness of important issues that concern kids and their families. I will embrace 2008 as the year that I made the career of my dreams a reality, and hopefully inspire others to follow their dreams as well.

I, Alan Simmons, being of sound mind (and questionable talent), do hereby claim 2008 as my year to grow my business and begin aggressively marketing myself as a voice talent and copywriter, both locally and nationally. I will attend workshops and classes to grow my talent and expand my knowledge of the business. In addition, I will use the knowledge I already have to inspire and assist vo talents just beginning their careers.

I, Chuck Taylor, do hereby resolve that in the new year (2008, just in case you didn't know) I will batton down the hatches and pursue the pirates to the ends of the earth! Die You Scurrvy Dogs!!! Oh wait that's the wrong resolutions...I resolve to wake up every morning as a different character and do all my morning routines as that character to help me learn to stay in character for long periods of time (even if it irks my 5 year old who constantly tells me that it irks her!). I resolve to build an isolation booth so that I can do voice work in the afternoon after the noisy neighborhood kids come home from school running and screaming in the streets (my wife won't let me run em down or sick the dog on em, so I guess building the isolation room is the best solution!) I resolve to loose my broadcaster voice in favor of a natural sound for voiceover work unless a client wants a broadcaster voice in which case I'll break this resolution. I resolve to vigorously continue my vo training and seek mentors who can help me to hone my craft. I resolve to find an agent (or 2) to represent me so that I can get more vo jobs...and finally in order to help me keep these resolutions, I resolve not to run out into on coming traffic (not only could it really hurt, but it might get me killed)!
So says I, The Dread Pirate...um Voice Over Artist, Chuck Taylor
