Jason, you and I are arriving at nearly the same time, barring any delays.
I'm inbound on United 781 out of Denver, and I get there at 12:01 P.M. I have already confirmed a SuperShuttle shared van for $13 each passenger. I did this because the farefinder said that the cab rides to the Hyatt would be about $50 after tips! So if anyone wants to share the van, come on down! Just purchase on the supershuttle website and we can get our gab on through traffic. :) Julie, if you guys don't mind waiting about 20 minutes after you get there, we could all share that van. Anyone else in, let me know. |

Here's my question, and it may be a dumb one, but how do you people afford to go to LA for a week?.. I mean seriously, I can't afford to pay attention and yet to go to LA for a week to a fab convention like VOICE would be my ultimate vacation. But I seriously can't afford any of it. How do you do it?.. My guess is you make 6 figures a year, but for those of us with milqe toast voices, who haven't hit the mother lode yet what do we do besides sulk?

Hi Scott,
For myself... I am living a dream of sorts... Next yr I turn the big 50.. I've owned my own computer store for 15 years and just never made huge money at it... this spring my mom passed away and as a result of that sad event I am able to afford to switch careers. Voice2008 is for me a starting point. I believe that I have the chops for this business, but I could be very wrong. I'll spend close to $1500 on V8 and it will be a cheap way to gauge myself and have others gauge me. Each industry is very unique, and I assume VO is no different. If I don't get out there and mix with those that do this, I will be working blind. There is also that little thing about attending the seminars, but my experience with gatherings like this is that it is as much about the people as it is the content So luck... I can afford it because I came into an inheritance. Now the real test will be if I can afford to attend next year! So maybe next year it'll be held in KC Quote:
