Andrea,

I just gave it a very quick listen and if this is your first time ever, at home, recording yourself, then I'm very impressed. I can't go into any significant detail right now, but will wait to hear what others have to say. In the meantime, a couple of quick technical things:

- your audio was exceptionally low. WAY, WAY low. I took your downloaded file, bumped up your volume and resaved it as a mono audio file. I'm attaching it here to make it easier for others to click and play, rather than have to download your file.

- no need for stereo in most narrations, with the possible exception of using music that is noticeably stereo. 99.999% of the v/o work you'd do will be 'dry' anyway (no mixed in music or sound effects) and you should always record in mono. After all, we speak in mono.

I look forward to hearing some others' comments about this first try.

Thanks! I was just deleting the post because I wasn't happy with the result and I'm sort of an overachiever. Sort of. But, thank you for uploading it into a louder format. I think I picked the stereo because I misunderstood Audacity directions on how to record so, mono it is! I'm eager to hear more from the community myself.

Okay, I think it's safe to asume that "Mr. newbie with a different perspective" ain't gonna comment on this, so here's my brief 2 cents... not much to say actually, because this is very good, considering your lack of experience! If anything, it sounds a bit "read". You want to sound like you have something very interesting to tell whoever listens, and that takes a bit of practice. Lucky for you, Scott is an expert of precisely that, "storytelling", and I bet he'll be happy to help you.
But a very promising start, Andrea!

I agree with Jacoby, but will also add that you should try to slow down a bit. Pacing will come more naturally as you get better with the 'storytelling' aspect, but overall a really nice effort for your first try!
