    Default VO Classes

I have searched the DFW Metroplex for VO Classes. Ran across info on Bob Michaels:
    http://www.bobsvoice.com/classes.html

Anyone have any input to share?

I'm not familiar with the guy, but listened to a bit of his stuff. He sounds seasoned, but good.
But good Gawd, in today's web-savvy, hi-tech era you'd think he'd get a decent website. Unfortunately, to me at least, the website just screams "Low-rent!!!"
    Not at all professional.

BUT.... don't let that sway you. Get opinions from folks who know something about the guy. He might be an excellent coach for all I know.

I had heard a bit about Bob when I lived in DFW. Seemed like he knew his stuff.

STAGE is also a cool place in general to take classes. I was a member there for a while, and I think you get a discount.

Probably worth a look - the course info and pricing looks pretty good, IMHO...

Thanks Joe. Your comment about being in the DFW area made me go check out your website and bio. What years were you in the Metroplex? Do you (or others reading this thread) know of any reputable coaches in the DFW area?

    Thanks Scott for the feedback:

I thought the site was a bit under-whelming too. I did read through some of his tips and advice, which seemed to align with many of the posts that I read here, regarding: doing your research about the training/coach, and VO not being an easy undertaking.

I lived in the area from about '93 to '02. I didn't do much VO work back then, mostly theater, improv, and the occasional on-camera industrial (Radio Shack does a lot of their stuff in DFW). Still was programming as my main gig ;-)

I read that, too, Duke, and appreciated his frankness and honesty. It seems like his number one goal is NOT to sell you on a class, which is good.
