Okay, since the Winter Wonderland thread has been so quiet, time to get a fresh one going, what with all the buds and blossoms we're starting to see here down South. (Apologies to those of you still stuck up in the frozen wastelands).
I'll get 'er started.
I actually was able to get a local radio station acct exec AND their client to realize that, no, we really shouldn't cram every kind of service they have into their :60 spot, and no, we really shouldn't use their utterly non-memorizable phone number, and no, we really shouldn't go wall-to-wall with verbiage.
They actually accepted my initial script as is, and asked me to produce it for air. Here 'tis.

I answered a lead on Voice123 today and within minutes got the word that I was ranked "Not Likely" (3rd out of 10 -- eventually down to 8th out of 22). Here's my demo.

Lee, I got a "Not Likely" for that same Becky Bakes thing. I am going to refuse to answer leads anymore on V123 where they're not darned specific about WHAT kind of voice they're looking for. I'm getting tired of getting dinged there.

I posted the following audition on Voices.com. The request was for a sound-alike of the Muppet "Animal."
Today I received a reply from the job poster saying, "Although we won't be working together on this project specifically, I am keeping you in mind for future opportunities. I really like your voice and can already think of upcoming work that might call for your particular [voice].

I hope the Force is with me. I got a SmartCast audition looking for a Darth Vader. They wanted 50 auditions. Mine was the first one in. Last time I checked, they had gotten only five. With a couple of special effects, I think it came out pretty well.

Lee!!!! "Pretty well"???? That's an understatement!! Outstanding!!!! I can see you now in the studio, doing the TomTom GPS saying "Round a bound"! (if you don't know what I'm talking about.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ljFfL-mL70 ) I swear, I listened to that YouTube piece back-to-back with your audition and it's a virtual twin. Let us know WHEN you land that one. Wow.
Speaking of sound a likes... here's one I submitted that never got listened to. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
They wanted a sound similar to the voice of the Chrysler commercial here:
