Still pretty new to the forum, but I thought I'd just jump right in and contribute! I thought it'd be nice, especially for folks just getting into VO, to do a little survey of what type of recording software your using. (There are a lot of choices out there and it may help someone decide!)
I'll start, I've been in radio for 23 years and have picked up several different editing suites over the years, currently I have SAW, Cool Edit Pro2, Adobe Audition 1.5, Samplitude, and I recently picked up ProTools M-Powered 7 for my m-audio card. I also use the Waves Diamond plug in package.
As I just got ProTools, I can't really say that it's my favorite yet, (I've only had it like 3 days) but it's pretty user friendly. I will say that the software I use more often is Adobe Audition 1.5 (I know there's updated versions out there, but using it on a daily basis at the radio station, we feel that it's the most stable version, although we'll have to check out version 3). If you're just starting out, I'd probably recommend adobe just for it's ease of use for people not familiar with audio editing. (If you can type a message on this forum and edit it, you can use adobe!)
How bout everyone else what do you use?
