Ok, I'm really surprised but I've just booked a $350 job on Opuzz for a short non broadcast recording. I didn't even auditioned for it.
I joined a couple of months ago because I saw many familiar faces there and it was cheap, but really, I wasn't expecting anything from it.
I know Scott P booked something there recently too, maybe it is worth it after all.
I thought it was worth mentioning.

Just a warning about Opuzz clients: get your money up front and do not audition by sending them a full-read script. This is not a knock on the site itself, but I've gotten two very amateur clients through them. One I suspect used my voice without ever paying. My fault--I should have been more wary.

Did you contact their customer service? I'm sure they'd help you recover the money. They take 10% after all, and they are very nice and helpful.

They made an effort to track down the guy after a few months--but he was slippery. I suspect he used my audition for the final and claimed I was not chosen. Not a big paycheck--live and learn. I'm not confident that pro clients are attracted to Opuzz. Hard to generalize, I admit, but this is my hunch and biased opinion.
This is a good place to share biased opinions, right?
