Default Came in First with Four Others

How about this one? Haven't been hired, so must be one of the three first place losers here.

This audition was 1st out of 61 that received feedback on 123, but there were also, according to the fine print four others that received the same rating.

September has her own Leads & Reads thread? How cool is she! I'm impressed.

Really gonna bare my soul here folks...

    First though:

Colin: I couldn't audition for the Puget Sound one since I don't have very easy access to ISDN. Plus I HATE the mega-compressed sound we get in the Fish's studios where I'd have to go for the ISDN hookup. In my ears, you sounded depressed on the Puget sound read. I see they wanted 'male, folksy, warm'. I think you hit all three of those, but with a real down note. Just my opinion which you can take as you wish.

I liked the heart physician read MUCH better. Very nice, very conversational, very real, very warm. Good job on that! And you didn't struggle with 'catheterization' the way I did.

Now attached are two files, and I'd love to hear others do this. I'm going to expose how long it really takes me to get a stinkin' :50 read right. You'll find my Physician's Heartcare that I sent to Big Fish, along with the original completely unedited version, complete with many flubs and throat clearings.

Any others out there willing to expose their flaws?

Mike -- nice powerful, ballsy read there. (Can I say that?) Don't know if it quite fit the copy, though.

Colin -- I'll have to agree with Scott on the Puget Sound. It had a sad tone to it. And I also agree on the heart physician being just what was called for. Very nice.

Scott -- Your usual good stuff.

Someone wanted a Alaskan Tourism Spoof, but didn't provide a script...so I inflicted this upon them (heavy Brit or Aussie accent preferred).

What the heck...I'll throw in a JFK audition too..

Scott.. if I played my out takes you have to look around the room to make sure there were no kids present. I had a little trouble with "catheterization" but got through it. It's a toungue acrobatic thing coming off the teeth and hitting the roof of your mouth kind of like snapping your fingers.

I have that "sad" sounding problem at times. It's me trying to be "real" again.

    Thanks for the comments.
