I signed up for Voiceover Directory 3 years ago. The number of leads received were significantly fewer than from Voices (then Interactive Voices) or V123. However, I really liked the method of notification via email that allowed me to establish a business relationship with clients.

The rates were in line with what I noticed on Interactive Voices and on V123; some good, some bad, some OK.

For most of the last year I haven't heard much of anything from them. There have been no leads, and my emails have gone unanswered.

Are there any other talents who have been with Voiceover Directory?

I am with voiceoverdirectory.com.

Ive only been with them for a few weeks. Went v123 went south, I started searching out other lead services. They also offered V-ZINE subscribers 1/2 price... only $49.99 for a year... pretty good.

So I'm giving them a try.
I got two leads in one day... good leads... and I LOVE the way they do it. They send you enough info on the client to contact them (and send chocolate, if you're me!) Didn't land any jobs from them yet. But they are new.

I say go for it...give them a try.

It's so inexpensive for V-ZINE subscribers. (At least thru August...not sure if they'll extend to September or not) while it's very slow from them... if you end up with ONE job in a YEAR...it pays for itself. And since you know who the clients are...not secretive like otgher site... you can send them postcards, chocolate, whatever...

The only thing I don't like is that they list you in categories in alphabetical order. In fact, I don't usually sign up for ANY site that does that. In my book, only the A's benefit from that. When I realized I'd be buried under "W," however, Mark DID change my name, at my request, to CHocolate Julie! :)

I'm surprised you've gotten no response in corresponding with them, though. They're usually pretty good about that.

Hi Julie,

I'm glad to hear that you're getting some activity with them. It shows that they're still active. I was beginning to wonder, myself! Time to give them another call :-)

One has to wonder if VODirectory is aware of what's happening at V123. Could be a prime time to hear opportunity knocking at the door. . .

An update... they did reply after I sent my 4th email their way. Mark apologized for taking so long to be in touch! It is nice to be treated with a bit of respect after dealing with V123's customer service. That's a definite "thumb's up" for Voiceover Directory!

I signed up about a month or two ago and have submitted perhaps a half dozen auditions. Apparently I have landed ONE job there, but it will be a good one: e-learning. The client contacted me about a week ago to discuss rates, delivery method and so on, and said he wanted to verify everything and that the project should kick in in a few weeks. So... SUPPOSEDLY... I have one job from there so far. We'll see.

WAY fewer leads than on other sites, though. I get more leads thru Guru.com than vodirectory.

Scott... are you a paid Guru member. Do these leads get jobs?

Colin, I just recently became a paid Guru member because otherwise I couldn't upload any demos.

Also, just got an e-mail confirmation that I am going to voice that VODirectory e-learning job for sure. So that's my first gig from voiceoverdirectory. No jobs yet from either Opuzz (what a waste of time and money!) or Guru.

I signed up for this site over a week ago as well as purchased a banner ad, and still do not see any listing nor have received any return calls or emails from them. The site said 24-48 hours for listings to go live, and they could be busy, but I see my credit card payment was processed, do I need to start worrying that I have been had?

Reading your post, Chris, prompts me to share yet ANOTHER update:-)

As mentioned earlier, after not hearing from Voiceover Directory, I did, with their apologies for not being in touch. That was about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I subsequently emailed them back twice about renewing my membership, and haven't heard from them since. I'm starting to get the impression they're pretty inconsistent over there.

Not cool that they took the $$$ so fast!
