I replied in a professional, yet honest manner and was told that I made false accusations and essentially I should watch my back because the VO world is small.

I'm still just so flabbergasted. I've never received such poor customer service before!

oh. wow. color me surprised.
(end Ben Stien voice)

The last e-mail exchange I had with him, he told me my languages needed to be ordered so my primary was listed first. I tried, but the site wouldn't let me change it. Then he said he was mistaken - the site doesn't allow us to re-order the languages. What a complete waste of time...

Haha to the Ben Stein voice. Nice.

Yeah, he also mentioned in his nasty reply that one of the reasons I don't book as much on voice123 as I used to is because I have "blank fields" in my demo descriptions. I'm not sure what to put there that isn't repetitive of what I already have on my profile. Also - I don't see what that has to do with it as I don't even get to use those demos to submit since most leads require custom auditions. I don't book because by the time I get home at night from my day job (soon to be done with!), the leads are already closed or I don't book because I wasn't invited to audition in the first place.

Okay enough of this though. I will rise above this negativity that was thrown at me and continue booking like crazy on other websites.

Hi Everyone,

I just cancelled my subscription to Voice123. They stopped sending invitations this week. Luckily, I was still within the first 30 days so I can get a refund and jump ship.

From what I understand in other posts in this forum, if you take a few low-ball gigs (mostly because I support the cause of the voice seekers and want to do something nice for a non-profit), they assume you only want the low-paying jobs.

Also, I was using the auditions to practice getting my speed in recording and delivering up. I felt I was taking too long to get the equipment set up, record, and send it off. So, figured I would challenge myself to hit the ground running and get an audition done quickly and delivered within the first half hour of listing. So, I did several auditions each day and now in my daily summary, it shows me that there are several requests that matched my profile but they weren't sent because I had submitted too many auditions.

Sooooo, that is the end of that. I will take my $300 and join Voices.com. Thank you all for your input on Voice123.

Sue

Hi Sue,

So sorry you had to go thru all that, but it's a common story (unfortunately).

In my opiinion both the system and the customer service have some serious issues.
And, yes... you do get penalized for submitting too many auditions... and for submitting too few.
... and possibly for wearing a hat on Tuesdays... Too many unknowns!

Please let us know if and when you get your refund from them.
Several others requested refunds when the whole SmartCast system went into place and I heard some didn't get one.

On a brighter note, I think you'll really like the folks at Voices.com - their service is great.
Not as many leads, but higher quality and more info.

In the "not renewing" camp,

Thanks, Joe.

I got an email tonight from your 'friend' Steven that is titled "Email Etiquette" -- now mind you, I have had NO email contact with anyone at Voice123 or the clientele until I sent my three-line note saying I am not satisfied with the service and I want a full refund. So not sure if everyone got the same email or if Mr Steven is upset that I am jumping ship and just wants to say something . . . anything.

I'll let you know what happens.

Sue

Thanks Sue.

Yeah, I got the same mass e-mail from Steven.
I'll reserve my comment on it, because my Momma always said "If you don't have something nice to say..."

Interested to hear what happens,

voice123 - bad and geting worse. The entire concept that the less you audition the more auditions you receive is just backwards. If you are a full time vo actor you are going to have the motivation and opportunity to audition more than those who are part time or just getting started. To have that count against you is not helpful. The customer service is horrific. That said I've more than made my money back. However, I agree that I am paying for a service that mostly gets between me and income. I'm starting to think that they are never going to listen to us. So - NO to voice123, I cannot recommend them.
