This was posted in response to one of Colin's thread over in the General Chit Chat forum and Julie asked me if I'd also post it here, so here's a copy 'n' paste:
I think it's okay - and even HEALTHY, plus HELPFUL - to discuss any and all v/o sites here, but just not dwell on negativity especially toward individuals. That being said, here are my thoughts on those I currently belong to: Voice123 - used to be my favorite site. I averaged several paying jobs a month there. Now, in the 5 weeks or so since the switch, I have ZERO jobs (and I know I don't suck), and minimal leads, most of which I can't respond to because they close before I can get to them. AND I'm one of those who works at home and can check leads regularly! So for me, V123 is now pretty much useless. Voices.com - I love the ease of responding to leads, the templates, the user interface, the number of leads, the clarity of the seeker's instructions PLUS the fact there are NO anonymous clients there, but I also haven't gotten many jobs thru them. And you never know if your audition was ever listened to or how many people are responding. Opuzz - a complete waste of time and money. No leads, no jobs. VociceOverDirectory - just recently joined so I can't say much about it, but so far the leads have been few and far between. Guru.com - just recently upped to a paying membership. Can't really comment yet. The only site that had really paid off for me was V123 and that's no longer the case. My best clients are coming from personal contacts, referrals, repeat business and so on. Right now probably less than 5% of my income comes from the online sites.

First welcome to the new bat belfry, I mean cave! I am also a member at Opuzz, and I would also like to say a few things on them. I have only worked 2 jobs in the 7 months I belonged. Now that's not great, but for me ( a not so newbie with limited $$ and a modicum of talent IMHO) it paid for it self with 1 regional and 1 international client. My main con about them is the response time from customer service and thier inability to show me how many times I'm viewed, listened to, etc. But it has paid for itself. Kevin |

I got one job off of a free Guru account once. Considered paying for it.... on the fence.
