Thumbs up Documentary: Dancing With Torah

Hi gang,

This is a documentary by an acting friend of mine from Dallas.
It's about the son of my former Improv teacher.

... and a pretty amazing story!

Here's a quote from the site:
Quote:
Preparing for his Bar Mitzvah, young Zach deals with the Holocaust when he sets out to raise $2000 to bring a Torah scroll, stolen by Nazis, to the Dallas Holocaust Museum from London. Using martial arts skill in a board break-a-thon, Zach commits to break 36 boards in one day - in memory of the one and a half million children who didn’t live long enough to have a Bar Mitzvah. Can Zach’s efforts release the oppression of a Nazi regime sixty years later? Several Holocaust survivors in Dallas meet Zach and relate their experiences of oppression and survival. Can the innocent efforts of a boy restore the lost innocence of his elders? The documentary witnesses the birth of a Torah in an orthodox Jewish community as the last letters are inscribed. The men embrace and dance with this scroll - a new living being, ever witnessing to human dignity, justice and love. A survivor, Torah’s journey is retraced from its Czech village, Horovice, to London and then to Dallas, Texas. This “tortured” Torah, and its extinct community, silenced by oppression, finally speaks. Will it be a blessing or a curse? The audience glimpses the innocence of Zach, the healing of survivors, the tragedy of the Holocaust, and this eternal dance with Torah. Is it just an ancient scroll or a living witness to what is most sacred to all humanity?
