Default RIP Billy Mays

TAMPA - The St. Petersburg Times is reporting that Billy Mays, the TV pitchman whose trademark voice helped sell everything from cleaning supplies to baking soda, was found dead this morning by his wife at his Tampa home. No cause of death has been reported and no foul play is suspected, according to Tampa police.

According to reports, Mays, 50, was pronounced dead at 7:45 a.m. at 2853 Bowen Daniel Dr., #1201. His wife, Deborah Mays, found him unresponsive this morning. The Medical Examiner's Office will complete Mays' autopsy by tomorrow afternoon.

Mays was a passenger Saturday of the 737 aircraft that took a hard landing at Tampa International Airport, an airport spokeswoman said

Whoa. Apparently not a good time to be a celebrity. Or 50 for that matter.

Say what you will, but the man found his niche and could hawk a product.

Condolences to his family and friends,

Glad I turned 51. Geez. This is getting scarey.

The thing I liked about Billy is he didn't take himself seriously. He knew he was obnoxios, it was his intention. It sells. He made himself a household name. We all know how tough that is to do.

Think about it... no more Billy Mays on TV. He was an icon.

Wow. First I was glad I got past 27, the age when Hendrix, Morrison, Joplin, Jones, Cobain, and others, died. Now I'm glad I'm past 50. Is Billy the fourth to die, or is this the start of the next three celebs to pass? I'm just asking.

Sorry for anyone passing so early. Folks get those regular checkups and get off of your duff and out from behind the keyboard for some daily exercise!

Sad news. I've really been enjoying his show Pitchmen. Huge ego but seemed like a really nice guy.
RIP Billy

Just seconds ago, the TV in the next room blared, "Hi, Billy Mays here for the Awesome Auger ..."
Although I have made no secret of my distaste for Billy's yelling & screaming style of voice over, I, likewise, have been enjoying Pitchmen and enjoyed seeing him being just a regular guy.

First Ed, then Farah, then MJ. Celebrity deaths come in threes. Leave it to Billy Mays to throw another one in ABSOLUTELY FREE!
