And seeking MORE prayers

I got a call from my wife a short time ago. The 16 year old son of a family we're quite close to shot and killed himself today. To say that all of us who know this fine young man and his family are in a state of shock is a huge understatement.

The boy's name is Wyatt. He and his family came to our local theater about a year ago and I cast his dad in a play I was directing. The entire family became very involved in the theater and we made close friends with all of them. There was never ANY indication of any problems whatsoever. The family seemed close, well-adjusted, very strong with their faith, and this came out of nowhere. I'm fighting back tears right now.

Pray for Wyatt's soul, that he is hopefully resting in peace with God. Especially pray for his parents and his two siblings, an older brother and a 15 year old sister, a young lady who is good friends with my son. I simply can't fathom how this will affect them.

Thanks for any prayers you can lift up.

Oh no.... I can't even begin to imagine how you and your family feel, let alone the family of the boy. How immensely tragic.

Thank you all. My wife and I are still just reeling. The latest info is that this may have been accidental and I have to believe it probably was. My wife just saw this dear young man Monday night at auditions (and he was cast in the show!) and he sat with my son and daughter Tuesday night at the midnight premier of Transformers 2. He seemed just fine. In my mind, I'm convinced it wasn't intentional. That's little solace, but some. Still, we're trying to just deal with it right now.
