My best thoughts to you and the boy's family, hope the healing can begin soon, with my own son visiting me this week I now understand how precious those times are. Very sorry.

May your friends realize grace in the midst of suffering...
May they receive the love and compassion of others... May they let go of guilt and resentment... May they forgive themselves for mistakes made and things left undone... May they forgive and be forgiven... May they open to the unknown as they let go of the known... May sorrow show them the way to compassion... May loving-kindness sustain them... May they come to recognize the gift of their loved one's death by opening their eyes of compassion... May they find peace and strength that they may use their resources to help others... May they accept human limitations with compassion... May they be grateful for this life...

Final update.
First: Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. Next: John, a special thanks for the prose you shared. I copied it and put it into a note that I gave to the family at the viewing last night, letting them know a lot of people from around the country and the world were thinking of them and lifting them up. At both the viewing (last night) and funeral (today) there was an astonishing number of people. The family was doing as well as could be expected. I gave long bear hugs to the mom and dad, both of whom I'm quite close to. The funeral services were amazing. Every right word was said. There was a beautiful slide show set to music of this young guy's life, mostly of theatre pix since that was his passion, and a short talk by one of our main theatre guys, talking about Wyatt and his passion for the theatre. It couldn't have been more perfect, considering the circumstances. I couldn't attend the graveside services, due to having to come into work tonight, but my wife and son went, and then there was to be a huge reception at our local theatre for everyone. This was a huge, painful loss, but the closure that was presented today was about as perfectly done as one could ask for. Those of us who were blessed to have this young man in our lives will carry warm memories of him forever.
