Default Prayers for my father

My father's had some health problems the past few months. He's back in the hospital after we'd hoped the worst had passed. Prayers are greatly appreciated.

Hi Diane, my prayers and thoughts are with you!

I lost my Dad when I was only 21- that REALLY hurt at that age.
Look after yourself.

Arthur.

Diane, please share your father's first name if you don't mind so I can lift him up by name. I, too, lost my dad some 18 years ago pretty unexpectedly and it was hard. I'll be asking God to watch over you, him, and your families and to help all of you come out of this healthy and whole. My thoughts are with you and your dad.

Thanks, Scott. His name is Fred. I'm sorry for your and Arthur, your losses -- and so young. It's difficult no matter the age. My father is very close, both to me and to my son. When I was teaching full time, my father and mother cared for my son from infancy on to age 9 during my working hours. They are inseparable. My son was in tears this morning, and doubting that God loves us if he lets bad things happen. We had a good long tear-filled talk.

Hi Diane,

I will keep Fred, you and your family in my thoughts.

It's good that you and your son are talking about it. Supportive friends and family have always helped me through hard times.

Take care,
Joe

Diane, My wife and I will light a candle for your father and add him to our prayers. And let your son know that God is good all the time and that He has a plan for everyone. Sometimes we may not understand that plan but there is a plan. I lost my mother to cancer when I was 24. I hated God for taking her away from me. And then 7 months later on the day before my birthday my grandfather died of a broken heart...and I hated God even more for taking the only consistant father figure in my life. I turn from God and turned on a path of self distruction. I walked that path for nearly 7 years when a fellow co-worker at a new job I had just taken who happened to be an old high school friend, invited me to go to church with her. I resisted at first, but she wouldn't give up and I finally gave in and went to get her to stop bugging me. Long story short, I got back into church and was baptised and rediscovered my relationship with God. A few months later my brother was killed in a car accident, but this time instead of being angry with God, I turned to Him for support and healing. My turning away from God 7 years earlier was part of his plan to prepare me for something that was to come later in life. He will lift you up and I will pray heavily for your father.

You got it, Diane. I lost my father some time ago after a brief illness and it was a difficult situation. In your grief, you find out who your friends really are. I'll keep you and Fred in my thoughts.
