Diane,
I've been lurking around here and soaking up information for months but this is my first post. I feel like I know you and the rest of the folks here and I wanted to add my prayers. I lost my dad suddenly 12 years ago and I think that no matter how old I am, I'll never get used to not having a dad. I'm praying that yours will be with you and your family for a good while longer. Thank you all so much. I am touched by you all -- and you, Steve, for coming out of lurk mode to add your support. He'll be having surgery either later today or tomorrow to remove a tumor. Scary stuff. So it's a comfort so many out there are praying and otherwise wishing well.

Thanks to the power of prayer and positive thoughts, he's had a successful surgery and we hope for a recovery without complication. We won't know the rest until the biopsy is done. But hurdle one is over.

Glad to hear everything is going in the right direction Diane. I will indeed pray for your whole family.
I have recently read a fantastic book that I would recomend to anyone who has any doubts about Gods love for us. It's called, "The Shack" I think it affects parents most and might be a bit much for your son, but I thought I'd just mention it. |

...I know how it is to see somebody suffer and to bear the uncertainness of how it will go on - lost my Dad with 17... I'm with you and Fred in my thoughts, wishing you both all the luck that you need in this difficult time.
