If you're interested in info on how to pick the best one, talk to a friend of mine ... He has one and uses it regularly. :) Of course, the guy's in about five different bands and makes his living as a musician ... but honestly? He's the most talented musician I know. His name is Chris Conway - Chris Conway Homepage . He's in the UK, but I'm sure if you had questions, he'd be happy to talk with you about it. :)

Sweet! Thanks Jodi ;-)

I've got a B3 on the way. Should be good for a starter to see if I have an aptitude for it...

It might be that Chris can give you some pointers on technique ... It never hurts to ask. :) Good luck with it! Keep us posted, ok?

I will.

I'm sure something will come out of it... even if it's just a way to annoy the cat!

Thanks Chuck - I'd seen the first one, but the DR. Who is new...

Those off tones make me cringe!

Let me tell you, thanks to this thread, my 6 year old daughter and I are planning on building a theremin this summer. She saw the cat video and wanted to "get one of those things!" (the theremin not the cat, we have 3 which is 3 too many in my book) So we're looking at probably getting the cheap 21 dollar battery operated kit just so we can build it. I know it's not a true theremin, but she can have fun with it without costing me an arm (they're not so expensive as to have to throw in the leg too.)
