Hey Gary - welcome!
If you have a chance, please post an intro in the Welcome section so we know a bit about your experience and goals. You may want to send a private message to Jodi Krangle - she's worked with SuchAVoice and they're making her demo... Cheers, Joe J Thomas Joe J. Thomas Acting Portfolio |

Most of what I've heard about Such a Voice is not very good. They have a weekend intensive and then produce your demo - all for a lot of money. I've only heard a couple of the demos hey produced and they were truly awful. The actors were told to read the copy and not act it ... and that's exactly how they sounded.
Get some proper training under your belt and commit to learning to be a good actor before you spend any money on a demo. If you let us know where you are, I'm sure someone here will be able to recommend a good teacher locally. Unless you are in teh middle of Montana or somewhere like that :) Good Luck |

Hi guys. While I think Dave is perhaps a bit harsh :) , it's true that the producer over at SuchAVoice worked with what he had to work with. I never took any classes with them. And because I recorded in a local studio here with the producer speaking with me through a phone patch, I actually got two demos for the price of one - which made it really fairly cheap, from my perspective.
But I should specify that I didn't go into that demo situation expecting them to *instruct* me. I went expecting them to produce a well-put-together demo of what I could do. I have committed to taking more acting classes to get away from the "announcery" read that seems typical for those with less of a background in acting and more of a background in other types of voice work. (I'm a singer, myself.) And I've actually modified the narration demo they did for me so that I'm happier with it myself (so that it features some things I've done in the past and takes out some of the reads I'm a little less happy with). But SuchAVoice did what they said they would do and I enjoyed working with them. It really depends on what you're using them for. Do they have good classes? I can't say since I've never taken any with them. But I did find their video material and literature very helpful in general. I'd love to hear others' perspectives on this though. That's mine. :) I hope it's helpful. All the best, --Jodi
