I wouldn't put my grocery list on one! Seriously, I don't use a template, I find that I like to have a more personal approach to each submission whereas a template feels like a form letter.

I thank them for the invitation and tell them how to contact me directly (either by e-mail or by e-mail and cell phone, depending upon the situation).
If my price quote requires some explanation (usually because they were not specific about what the project entails), I give it to them.
And if the demo is anything other than a full read of their sample script (i.e. a shorter portion of a longer script, or a generic demo because no sample script was provided), I explain what I'm sending.
That's it, unless there is some other factoid I care to add, such as "I have done work for this client in the past," or "I have used you company's products for years."

Do you watermark your submissions?

I do, simply for protection sake.

I never give a complete demo or submission. Don't want to take the risk of them using my demo/submission and not paying me for it.

Here is a demo I recently did. Gives ya an idea of what I mean.

Maybe it's my Florida Swamp raising but I just don't trust those big city fellas LOL

I also just change a word or two. I also put my slate at the end as some casting directors have said they won't listen to a submission if it starts with a slate.
