Besides voices.com and voice123 (I joined both), are there any other good venues for Newbies to find work? For those of us with little or no experience, it seems there aren't a whole lot of audition opportunities on those sites.
I speak Spanish as well as English, and have worked in medical communications and advertising for 20+ years (as a writer/editor). I'd also be happy to do pro bono work; what are the best ways to find volunteer work in VO? Thanks a bunch! |

I'd drop a CD demo or if not a full demo, a few voice samples by your local cable company if they have an advertising department that produces local spots... also try local radio stations and television stations... they are always in need of extra spot voices. You might volunteer to do a free read for a spot and if they like you and want you back, you could negotiate a fee for your services. Volunteer reading at the library. And one thing that I'm about to do, make a list of business in seperate categories that might need an on-hold, IVR or message voice. Just a few thoughts.
