Elizabeth,
Wow... um, what Joe said! Definitely won't hear that on on the Family Channel. Good job. Joe, Great attitude on the read... I passed on auditioning for that because I couldn't wrap my head around who the character was supposed to be.. Here's a recent audition for a training video on Voices.com... nothing sexy, but things like this have been my bread and butter as of late. |

Hello to all you experienced and talented ones. I'm new to voice overs, and though I've had a handful of paid gigs, it' been a discouraging few days. Then I did this audition today that just made me chuckle. It's a silly reminder that I love doing this stuff, even if sometimes it feels like audition after audition just lands in some audition abyss. I'm learning a lot, and benefitting from lurking around places like this. So thanks!

Alex & Joe, thanks for blushing. My husband laughed when I played the clip for him. I agree with jenksf about loving this stuff. Thanks for such a great forum.

OK, I'll toss a couple into the pile. These all came from Voices.com today.
First is one that was looking for a Dick Vitale style spot. Surprisingly, when I submitted this an hour after receiving the lead, nobody else had done one. Maybe I'll get it by default. (Just checked; they have now gotten 8 replies.) Next is a demo that called for "an 'average-Joe' somewhat edgy read with slight sassy attitude. Upbeat and energetic!" Sounded to me like they were asking for Dennis Leary without wanting to say his name. And finally there was one for a bar (or maybe a strip club; I really don't know) in Winnipeg. They did mention Barry White by name.
