Whoa! June already?!?!?
Ok, here's where you can post your audition mp3's and sundry audio for others to listen and comment! (the prior one is here: Now Hear This! - 2009, May (or Maia if you're Greek...)) Have at it, Joe J Thomas www.JoeActor.com www.SoundsGoodToYou.com Last edited by JoeActor; 06-01-2009 at 07:09 PM. |

The feller at Voices.com wanted a "Most Interesting Man In The World" (Dos Equis campaign) sound-alike. Well... it was a fun challenge, anyhoo (I don't sound as "mature").
Next is a bit about "Lawyers" from V123 (1:45 in length). Final one's just a plain ol' burger joint radio commercial. Thanks! Last edited by PierceVoice; 06-03-2009 at 01:38 PM. |

Here's 3 reads of an audition for a technology-based web video... the lead didn't have any copy, just a link to the kind of sound they were looking for (some Discovery Channel promo) so I just threw together some generic tech-ish copy. Now that I'm getting more comfortable with this type of read, I think I need to incorporate it into some of my demos, because I'm seeing more jobs looking for this type of sound.

Nice reads everyone.
Chadd -- Very cool stuff. I dig the Fatz Cafe spot. Chris -- Awesome dude. Sounds like you are really nailing those techie type reads. Keep it up. Michael -- Nicely done on both postings. I wish I could read those medical spots like that. Well, Chadd and Michael set the bar on the Most Interesting Man impression and I sent in my take on this as well. Funny, I used some of the same material as Michael. Also, I sent in for multiple characters for a pre-vis of an upcoming animated movie. The first was a younger 18-25 fast talking nervous bird that gets eaten in the end, the next were an Wise old Owl and a 25-45 confident sincere Snake and the last two were a couple of Squirrels (#1-Dim-witted, bulky, tough/#2 - Rough, gravely voice). I did what I could with them.

Naturally, if Jon submitted a character audition, that means so did I. This time we didn't go for exactly the same charcters. I did the two squirrels, the snake and the owl.

Hey Gang - wow! I'm way behind here.
Those are some interesting, uh, most interesting man reads! I wasn't clear if they wanted the VO or the actual Most Interesting Man voice. Chris - I like those Tech takes... good variety. Cool squirrels Jon and Lee ;-) Ok, so, it's Friday - how can I resist a Stewie audition (see below) Let me know if I'm in the ballpark! Cheers, Joe J Thomas www.JoeActor.com www.SoundsGoodToYou.com |
