Scott,
Hahaha, thanks! I really appreciate the feedback you sent me. Chad, Thanks for your kind comments and very valid critique. I think I went a bit wild on the articulation exercises that day! :) I'm originally from Alabama, so find I can over compensate for all the swallowed consonants and elongated vowels at times. Listening to this again just now I winced when I suddenly noticed how I said "boat". Ow! :) It's all part of the adventure! Take care, Will |

Ass-kicking, Chris! Incidentally, an absolutely gorgeous part of the world that Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, TN area is. My GOD.
+ I'm pretty sure this one's shaky enough NOT to be considered, but I'm so happy with my progress from even late last year I wanted to post. I can hear more of what "that sound" will be when I'm finally "there"... it's a really invigorating feeling! Thanks to you all for the amazingly educational inspiration you post here!! chadd |

Hey there, guys. Been really enjoying (and been inspired by) the reads I've been hearing here. :) Keep up the great work!
I couldn't resist posting this as Chadd just posted his take (and you have a *great* sound for that, Chadd!) ... Mine's a bit different... But it was a fun commercial to work with. ![]()

Rick - Nice read. You have a nice quality about your voice. For me, it is a bit like an announcer, which is something that I know all too well. Without know what the direction was for this, I would try to make it more real as if I were talking to a friend, having a casual conversation and sharing this with them for the first time. Maybe add some quiet excitement about it and relax into the read. Be more natural. That's me though.
Not bad though.

Thanks, I needed to hear that. I have a tendency to lean on the "broadcasters" mic a bit when I do these.
Its a tourism promo, trying to get people here for the area's tranquility. Thanks for the quick response!! R |

Yep, too much announcer.
Tranquility is the key word here. Pull back on the projection, try whispering it a little, play with the words... roll 'em around a bit -romance them. Don't be in a rush on this spot. You also don't need to be thinking necessarily about New Brunswick Parks. Put yourself in that special place that makes your relaxed and tranquil. For me it might be a nice soothing topical beach with blue skies, crystal clear water, gentle ocean breeze... "aaah total tranquility." Be in that Place, whatever that place may be for you. Then figure out who you are talking to, and talk to them "appropriately" in that setting. |
