Thanks for the nice words, Jeff. Defiance... dang, it's been awhile!*

Backing down a bit to a much more subdued read of my own, here's an attempt at a serious spot for Live Earth.
Best to all on the boards!

Chadd, did they rate you yet on the Live Earth piece? I was somewhat flabbergasted to get a "not likely" on mine. I'm not sweating it because lately I've had a string of V123 successes, but still, just wondering....

Scott,
Got the same. Took me a lil bit to find it... this is literally my first full day. Still learning....

Well geeze then, I wonder what they want. From what I could tell you and I both pretty much followed their directions. Too bad, would've been a sweet gig. Oh well!

Got another private invite thru V123 today, which has oddly been happening a LOT lately after MONTHS of nothing... and here's what the client said they were looking for:

"The program is a half hour documentary on the Civil War, focusing on the Battle of Gettysburg. We followed five Civil War reenactors back to Gettysburg for a reenactment of the battle and recorded their emotions and feelings about the experience.

The finished program is a profile of these five people as well as a historical overview of the actual battle.

I am currently looking for a "Sam Elliott" type of read; slow and deliberate with maybe a small hint of a western drawl. I encourage all voice talent auditioning to consider the subject matter and present an audition that they feel also would work well for the subject matter."

Rather than try to mimic Elliott, I merely gave it my guttural read. I submitted the audition dry, but added a little Mark Isham to this mix for this forum.

Just got a V123 lead for this one, kinda fun dark promo for a Fox Crime channel in Asia.

btw Chadd... if today's your first day on V123 and you submit an audition or two, don't freak out if you stop getting Smartcast invitations for a little while... it takes a while for your stats to level out with the "average" on there... I did 3 auditions my first day (last May) and it took about a month for me to get a steady, normal stream of leads.

I was invited to that one but did not audition for it. I'd love to hear your read ... even with the rating.

What are all the ratings?

This is great stuff guys! It's interesting to hear different approaches to the same script.

In that case, I'll throw mine on the pile too. At the moment, it has still not been opened by the voice seeker.
