Hi! Really liked the sound of that, actually. Though I'm no expert when it comes to the actual equipment you might have or might not have been using. I thought your voice had a good "roundness" and "depth" to it though. As for the read, I did enjoy it. You have a *great* voice for this kind of stuff. I found it a bit fast in places, but it can be hard to do something lengthy and maintain the same speed throughout. In general though, I love your little conversational pauses. A job well done, in my opinion. :)

Thanks to all of you for the comments and tips.
I certainly do have quite a ways to go to get to that professional sound level that I hear in all of your demos. I'm trying to find the right settings on my home studio set-up. Right now I'm using an AT 3035 mic > an ART Tube pre-amp > Yamaha MW10 USB mixer > Sound Forge or to Sony Vegas . I've got all kinds of plug-ins but I haven't learned how to use them properly yet. I have a very good friend who has a recording studio and all kinds of hardware gear. He's offered me free use of any of it at anytime so I plan to take advantage of that. He's offered to help engineer my demo. He's a music guy though. Some other posting I've read elsewhere suggests not letting a music engineer do any voice demo engineering. I'm hoping I can get something going on a "real" pro level in voicie work. First though, I need to develop my style and learn how to get the pro sound on a consistent basis. I'm pretty patient yet anxious. I still work a real job that pays the bills and I have an audio/video production sideline business. Small potatoes right now but it does earn. I can get away with a lot (less than great audio) as long as it's for local use or non-public use such as training, marketing, or promotional videos. I know I'll have to really improve my voicing and audio results if I want to compete in the big time. Jeff

Thanks for your thoughts Jodi. Coming from your it is a great compliment. I appreciate your more detailed analysis.
Does anyone hear any pops in the recording? How is the volume? I have been told that my volume is very low and that some of my recordings are a bit hard to hear. |

I'm also sensing a little under articulation on several words, and a bit of a lazy mouth overall. You might try warming up a little better, and practice reading the copy with a cork in your mouth. This will improve your articulation. The art of voice acting: the craft ... - Google Book Search You may have a little cotton mouth too- Hydration! ![]() |

Mike, thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it!! I remember another post that talked about the cork thing ... I guess I'll just have to go drain a bottle of wine. |
