I figured I had to let you guys hear this one! LOL.
I got a private invitation on Voice123 from a company that does medical stuff... they said this was sort of a "test" for me and that if I could do it that they will have some 50 to 100 jobs per year for me, that they liked my voice but have run into lots of talent in the past that say they can talk in "medical speak" but can't back it up... so they sent me this script and asked me to read just telling me to read it in a "formal and corporate type read, somewhat official since doctors will be watching it". Some of it is run of the mill and some of it is tough stuff... I had to do some research for a while to figure out the proper way to pronounce some of these words and drug names... that was one of the hardest parts, the research first! (the bigger words are in the second half of the script) (a warning to the squeamish, it's a little gross at the beginning) By the way, I DID get the job.... :) Just thought this would be a fun one to post cause it was one of the harder ones I've had to do. -Josh

I had a lot of fun with this one. Low budget but it was fun. Anyone else do "God in Ancient China" for Voice 123 this afternoon?....

Nope. I saw the budget and hit 'delete' on that one.

Josh -- I have done quite a few medical narrations -- that one takes the cake... my hats off to you.. and you do have the perfect voice for it.
Here's something a little different -- they asked for something funky to go with some funky copy. "The voiceover needs to be a bit over the top and edgy. "Really feeling and understanding the words. "Put emotion into the reading." Last edited by Michael J. Schoen; 02-19-2009 at 01:49 AM. |

Josh -- Great work on the medical spot. Man, that was cool and gross. You almost gave it a "Fun with STDs" feel to it.
Joe - Great variety on the characters. It would be great to hear more. Colin - Well, not much to say but you sound great as always. Actually, I jumped in my seat when that first word hit the speakers. Great work. Mike and Diane - That was great. You guys are a perfect match. I need to find a partner like that to work on dialogs. I sent in the same spot but I tried to provide the Dull female voice which sort of came out like a Fem version of HAL. Loved what you guys did. Mike again - Very nice read. I took it a bit more over the top, but after listening to you, it may have been a bit too far. Great job. Here are my takes on the SoftwareX and Funky Corp Vid spot.
