Default Whaddaya Think? Now Hear This frequency...

Hey Gang,

Since the infusion of new blood, the "Now Hear This" thread each month has been exploso-riffic!

So, please take a moment to let me know how frequently you'd like a new thread started.

Currently I start one on the first of every month, fyi...

Thanks,
Joe J Thomas

When Leads and Reads (Demo of the Day) first started here (and always over at Savvy) it was a weekly thing. I guess the response was not overwhelming back then, so the frequency changed. I prefer shorter threads because if you are away from the board, or even just the thread for a while, you may miss a read say, some five or six pages back. I just find shorter threads more manageable, but I have stated that before. There are also times that the thread is lengthened by many comments on one particular read, and another read gets lost as a result -- or by some occasional slight deviation from the topic at hand (ahem).

That being said, I don't want to make any more work for you, Joe. If life is simpler for you with one a month, we can deal. Just stating my preference, since you asked.

Thanks for all you do here. It is very much appreciated!

I vote for weekly. I agree with Diane about the long threads.

I was going to suggest sticking with the longer thread only because stuff that gets posted toward the end of the time period tends to get lost as soon as a new thread starts up and with a weekly thread, that happens every week. But I would be willing to compromise with a bi-weekly or twice-a-month thread.

I was going to ask what was wrong with people posting individual threads on specific reads - and then I realized that you still can do that anyway, so perhaps a ganged up thread is OK. If it gets much past 6 pages, it seems unwieldy though - especially if you have to click back to find other things that have been referenced.

Well, August had 43 pages (!!!) and September already has 17, so, though it may vary, I think every two weeks would work out best.

Bi-weekly should be easy enough.

I'm fine with however people decide to do it. I just subscribe to a thread and answer when I'm able. :)
