It simply isn't a 20 minute commitment. It is an investment in time, money and energy and a devotion to a craft. Many voice actors might only work 1 - 2 hours per week. This isn't the type of work that gets priced and graded on a 40 hour work week. We're not even discussing transportation time or expense, which if factored to an 8 hour day isn't much. I routinely travel 3 hours roundtrip to do jobs for a company where my booth time per trip is generally 20 minutes or so. It shouldn't be and I resent a "mindset" that wants to makethe profession of voiceover anything less than what it should be. As for only allowing the "big studios" here. I am a one man shop. I suppose I could cut off a leg or arm and have it be even "smaller" and yet I always endeavor to pay appropriate wages to actors. You yourself use the "money out of my own poscket" excuse, as you must feel the compensation is lessthan what they should be receiving. Now you defend it as more than just and appropriate.

This is simply my opinion. I don't speak for the industry or anyone else, but you will find that there are quite a few of us who will defend our positions even to our own personal detriment. I am certain you will have no diffculty finding the people you need and my comments are nothing in terms of any level of obstacle. Unfortunately, because of the way things are you win.

If a tree falls ina a forest and there's nobody there to hear, does it make a sound?

I personally commend Michael for being upfront with the description and the amount he was willing to pay for the gig. Heck, at least he his willing to shell out a few bucks to those interested. It is shameful, however, the amount of flack that he got on this post from some folks on this forum, but it does seem to be a trend here and something that I'd prefer not to be a part of.

I wish Michael and the VO talent that help him on his project great success.
