Ok, I've been advised that my current demo needs to be redone, and this is what I came up with . Please critique and let me know what I need to do different. Thanks in advance and I deleted the other demo from the other thread.

First of all, I like this one much better! If I'm remembering your old reel properly, this one has more variety, better flow, and more effective mixing. Overall, this thing is gold. FINE WORK!
Here's my play-by-play of opinions for the spots. Take it all with a pound of salt. My thoughts on a segment may directly conflict with those of another person. Missouri Western - Very dynamic, energetic. I believe in the gold! Checker Auto/Other masculine spots - Radio. If you're looking for a radio sound, this definitely has it. Since this sort of ad is supposed to appeal to the man's man (automobile-wise), I suppose lightening it is out of the question. However, since it's Boys & Girls Club, maybe you could get away with more emotional depth in the future. Christmas Ad - One of my favorites. Good character, good inflection. Dispatch Thing - Funny character, well placed relative to the other clips. "I'm rollin' up on it right now!" Crime & Abuse - Maybe it's the music, maybe it's your voice. Maybe it's both. You're hitting the nail on the head with the level of compassion. Watch your breath placement. The beginning of this spot is very radio, but you manage to loosen up as it continues. Instead of a such a high "Imagine wondering...", relax it, and start lower. Roommate - Also funny! Heartbeat - Clean, insightful, professional. Well-placed pauses. Bret |

Good demo with a couple changes. The first 3 seconds is a wreck. Needs tidying up. Go to all hard stops between spots...fades are out. Personally I don't mind if demos go over :60...but some do? Its pretty much the standard these days.
![]() It's a great general demo. Couple of your characters had me cracking up...lol. Funny stuff!"Yes, yes...it's all here you know. You got talent..no?. Better be...Gryffindor!" - The Sorting Hat - Harry Potter Last edited by vic44139; 09-14-2007 at 01:29 PM. |
