I've had limited exposure to the format - did morning news fill-in at the Salem "Fish" station in Portland - but from my perspective, if you were going for edgy, you got it with the tequila worm!
When I hear those stations, I often hear imaging that went through too many committees before it hit the air. All the corners rounded off, nothing to make me smile or challenge me. Your demo will stand out in that world, and some PDs will love it, but it may be a matter of getting it past corporate or the local GM. I sense the management of some CCM-formatted stations underestimate what their listeners would accept or respond to. |

Chad:
The demos sound nice and they are supposed to sound nice. So good on ya. If I were to suggest an alternate, I say try a couple of those scripts with a brighter, less subdued voice. Over smile but don't over announce. Some of the ones in that demo sounded a bit -just a bit- trance like. Overall, fine. I hope this helps.

All the feedback has been amazingly helpful-- I appreciate the time each of you took to listen! I'm talking to a couple of Christian Radio consultants trying to get their perspective too & plan to whip all the new awareness up to come back and knock 'em dead with (only for them to rise days later).
