Just starting a new studio ...
Hi Everyone ...
I'm just getting started with a home studio, and Pro Tools recommends an independent audio hard drive. Do you all have separate hard drives for your VO work, and if so, can someone recommend a hard drive or give me some advice on that? Thanks a ton. Melanie |

Hi Melanie, welcome, I suggest a Western Digital 500 gig that you can get just about anywhere.

Well, since you're using ProTools, I would find the one thats compatible with MAC unless you're using the PC version of ProTools. the WD 500 Gig that I have is portable, runs externally through the USB port and the software came with it with the drivers it needed ( I use XP Pro with Adobe Audition 2.0). If you are using a seperate computer for Internet access (recommended) then I would use the Western Digital MyBook Pro WDG1T5000 500 GB FireWire 400

Seagate bought Western Digital and either is a great drive. I may be wrong about this, but can't you format a drive to be compatible with the Mac?
