Get them out of the room if you can. I use the adjacent room as a machine room- drilled a hole installed ABS pipe with 90° elbows on each side (makes an effective sound trap) pulled cables through, stuffed some 703 or dence foam for extra sound control.

When you say 703 foot, I assume you mean constructing some sound absorbers using the rigid 703 fiberglass panels. I can probably get that done over the weekend.
Yes Sir (Ignore the foot. I was going to compare the square foot price between foam and 703; 703 @ $1.25 per Sq ft and Diamond foam @ $5.00 per Sq ft.) If you're handy, you'll save a bundle. "Johns Manvill" makes a similar product. You generally can't run down to the home depot to get this stuff, if you in or near a large township or city you'll need to locate an insulation distributer, or someone that does AC duct work. I get mine for the boys over at Viking Insulation Co in Burbank.

As to the mic, I did pick that up on the cheap to get started. While its easy to spend $$ on a mic, it didn't seem wise to do so until I had a clear idea of what mic to buy. I didn't want to spend $$ just to spend $$ on a random pick. If you have any suggestions, I'm open.
Not a big deal. And I understand about not wanting to spend money just because. Everyone has a favorite mic, and when starting out it boils down to what you can afford vs what mic you sound good on. Then, after being in the biz a while, one generally upgrades to better and better mics. Then again, what is better these days? My daily go to is a Studio Project C1, but then I'll switch it up depending on what I'm doing.

Thanks, Mike. I'll work on this over the weekend and hopefully will have a better sound by Monday.

I've got a sound absorbing panel behind my PC to catch the noise bouncing off the wall, then I also hang a pillow over the front when I do recordings along with a pillow in my lap. (Tile floor)

I built 5 panels from regular unfaced R30 and put it in 6" deep frames. One 24 inch wide roll is 25 feet long.

As do conventional fluorescent light fixtures and refrigerators.
