Jason,

This is just too cool. I'm real glad for you. With Vic Mignogna in the mix it ought to be a great show; he is a huge Star Trek fan. Keep up the great work.

Even Enterprise got good when Manny Coto became producer. Unfortunately, by then most of the audience had moved on.

Getting a Trek VO gig has to be as cool as it gets! Congrats to Jason.

I tried for years to worm(hole) my way into the Trek universe. One of my friends and I took advantage of their unique open submission policy to pitch stories to the producers of Next Generation, DS9, and Voyager. In all we pitched about 30-40 stories or story ideas in 10 different pitch sessions. Never managed to sell them a story, although we did come close a couple of times.

About the nearest I've been to a Star Trek VO job is being in a few commercials with William Shatner. But we recorded out parts in different sessions, so I never got to meet him (which, according to some sources, is probably a blessing).

Wow Jason, that's so exciting! Congratulations!!! Make sure you tell us when it airs. My kids think it's the best thing when I holler "I know that guy!!" when they watch TV...especially when their friends are over.
:-D

Default Thanks,

Joe, Speechlady, Lee, Jon, Michael, Julie, Dave,

Thank you guys for the encouraging words. This has been a really enlightening experience. Not a bad way to start the animation portion of my career.

Julie,
If I can figure out how to land on your front lawn…we could do lunch….LOL . Thanks for the kind words, and the forum.

I can’t tell you how invaluable my time has been here. With the help of you, people like Bob Bergen, and others, I have started making headway in my transition from a local artist to a national entity. The information, and the great artists I meet here, has given me the knowledge, courage, and inspiration to pursue goals only dreamed of before I started coming here. I just wanted to thank you publicly for that. I joined Voices.com 6 weeks ago, and already have gotten 3 good paying jobs in that time span. That would not have been remotely possible without the wisdom being imparted here. So I not only thank you, but all the great artists here…

Jon,
Thanks, I see you got some cool work yourself in another thread…Congrats. I know you’re working hard at this, and I hope you get all the work you can handle. You using Izotope?

Lee,
Thanks. I still would have loved to have met Shatner, worts and all. But still, you did a spot with him…cool…
You must be a big fan of ST…that’s a lot of scripts to write. Antny was telling me in this tread that he works, does voices, for ST radio plays. Ever pitch to those people?

Joe,
Thanks, I’m happy you got the gaming gig. I haven’t really started looking into that side of this yet…All things in time. I do have plans to meet with Funimation here in the metro-plex though, and they do a lot of stuff.

…from the helm…
Jason
