My mentor in advertising, Ron Armstrong worked for Hal and I was lucky enough to have met the man several times. In case people didn't know, besides being the founder of Hal Riney & Partners, one of histories most succesful ad agencies, Hal was also quite sought after as a voice talent. He and I actually had the same agent for awhile. Also, Jeff Goodby and Rich Silverstein are HRP alumni as are most of the top ad people in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Although he has been retired for some time, to say he will be missed is an understatement. He was the man behind Saturn cars, Bartles & James and the voice of Country Time Lemonade. He is also considered to be the mastermind behind the re-election of Ronald Regan for President.
