I think it's okay - and even HEALTHY, plus HELPFUL - to discuss any and all v/o sites here, but just not dwell on negativity especially toward individuals. That being said, here are my thoughts on those I currently belong to:

Voice123 - used to be my favorite site. I averaged several paying jobs a month there. Now, in the 5 weeks or so since the switch, I have ZERO jobs (and I know I don't suck), and minimal leads, most of which I can't respond to because they close before I can get to them. AND I'm one of those who works at home and can check leads regularly! So for me, V123 is now pretty much useless.

Voices.com - I love the ease of responding to leads, the templates, the user interface, the number of leads, the clarity of the seeker's instructions PLUS the fact there are NO anonymous clients there, but I also haven't gotten many jobs thru them. And you never know if your audition was ever listened to or how many people are responding.

Opuzz - a complete waste of time and money. No leads, no jobs.

VociceOverDirectory - just recently joined so I can't say much about it, but so far the leads have been few and far between.

Guru.com - just recently upped to a paying membership. Can't really comment yet.

The only site that had really paid off for me was V123 and that's no longer the case. My best clients are coming from personal contacts, referrals, repeat business and so on. Right now probably less than 5% of my income comes from the online sites.

Scott,
Would you please post these evaluations under the REVIEW ONLINE SITES area... Hardly anyone has reviewed voices.com. ONly voice123. I understand why people review v123...since most of the talent there are very dissatisfied with the service... but let's review the others too, so that newbies here know who they can feel comfortable signing up with.

How is voiceoverdirectory.com doing for you? You can put that in the review area too. Thanks!

OK here's an unhealthy thought...how can talent know that anonymous voice seekers are real? Full disclosure of clients seeking talent is the only way to go. It would be interesting to know how many Talents scored a gig from an anonymous lead. 8)

HI everyone. Thought I'd chime in here.

I really didn't participate much in the saavvy forums because I just didn't have the time. Many of the topics seemed geared to newbs, which offered little benefit for me, and I had work to do.

I do enjoy Voices.com and feel they offer a pretty good service. I've been on both 123 and the voices site for 2+ years and have had plenty of work from both, tho I must say the work and leads from 123 have just about dried up since the sweeping format change. By renewal time, it should be just long enough to know whether or not the investment in my premium membership at the 123 site "pencils out"

I park my demos in a lot of places. The 2 mentioned above are just a part of the overall marketing strategy.

Colin, I remember seeing your avatar almost everywhere in those forums. You invested a lot of time. Now, on to other things. Here's to the future!
