Julie,

You have valid points. I just felt the need to whine. I may just bite the bullet and add the automatic subscription to my PayPal account with the hope that it does not get hacked again. I would feel better if I actually booked something through them though.

And, yes you did give me access to a month free of Voice123. The main reason I did not stay was because of SmartCast. Funny thing though, the same no match auditions you mentioned you get via SmartCast I get from Voices.com. Maybe they both use the same matching algorithm.

In the end, I still have VoiceHunter. They are cool.

Thanks.

Hey Julie!
You're right, but I have a workaround for that:
I have my demos in a special folder on my laptop & just attach one of them to the "Custom Demo" slot on the V123 lead if I happen to check it when I'm away from the studio.

I use this when I'm on the road or even if they want a custom demo (especially telephony) that one of my demos already covers.

I then explain to the lead that I'm away from the studio and would be happy to provide a custom demo if they like the sound of my voice and provide their email address (since you can't answer a lead more than once).

I've gotten booked off my demos this way even though the client wanted a "custom" demo.

Just a thought!

BTW: I'm a member of both V123 & a Voices.com at the Premium level, and I get enough work from both that I will renew.

Peace!

Liz

I agree with Brad. Grandfathering makes it worth staying with voices.com -- I didn't have auto renewal set up and Laurynda explained to me how I could keep my rate at $199 -- You basically have to renew before March 31st. If that is early for you they will refund you the difference. Just email Laurynda or call them and they will be glad to help you. My experience has been quite pleasant.

Yep, Tom, That's what Laurynda & Carol told me as well. My renewal is up in April, but I'll be renewing at the end of March with a one month refund.

Well, with their rates going up ... and with Premium members getting better placement, I think it's time for me to bite the bullet and upgrade ...

(Also, recently got a personal invitation to audition for a project at Voice123.com and was once again so UNimpressed with their system that it made me VERY happy I decided to pay the money to Voices.com rather than them!)

Hmm . . . lot's of information to consider. If I do the automatic renewal at the $99 level and want to upgrade later, do I have to pay the $299 or can I upgrade to the $199? Anybody know?

Hey Joe!
I don't, but if you contact Laurynda Pasma <laurynda@voices.com>, or Carol Mroz <carol@voices.com>, over at Voices, they'll tell you right away.

Peace!
