Just brainstorming here, but what if you had something that spoke to the demand for the book to show potential publishers ? The word "petition" comes to mind, but I'm sure there's a more appropriate term!

Sounds great Bob, I would buy it. If you would include a chapter on the mistakes that are commonly made, that would be really useful. It is one of the reasons I haven't sought representation yet. I didn't want tp blow the first impression.

I'd *definitely* buy this book. How's it coming along, Bob? Any news? I just asked a question about this sort of thing in the general section - along the lines of "how do you know when you're ready for an agent?" but it definitely ties into this. Knowing what the agents *want* will help to tell a talent when they'd be ready.

I would buy the book.
I believe I have the chops for this industry, but knowing I face the gauntlet of those in the position to open or even slam doors, gives me pause.... I do need to know how to approach them... Reading the Art of VO (thanks J Alburger) gave me a sense of the work flow and technique, but dealing with agents is another kettle... I have a questions for those agents: How do you respond to the levels of talent you encounter? Are you candid with those that haven't got it? Do you cushion your responses? Do you ever turn someone down, only to see them working elsewhere? How approachable are you? Does talent shine through and overcome other factors? Do you consider yourself an excellent judge of VO talent ( or good enough)? Thanks for taking the time to open up a new avenue of insight, and I'll see you in LA and Atl... ![]() Jason |
