Hey Joe!

I know K., and I've read her LA book. It's great!

Mine is a little different. What K. does is give an overview of the agents, what they do, the kinds of actors they represent, etc. It's a great resource!

My book asks each agent in an interview style the same 50 questions. So you know exactly where each of them stand on everything, from how to better your chances of having your demo heard when seeking representation, to having other agents in other markets, union vs. non union, how to get more activity from your agent, what an actor can do in conjunction with their agent to further their career, how often to communicate with your agent (and how, phone or email), what's the proper protocol when leaving an agent, etc.

No matter where you live, no matter who represents you, you will know where every agent stands on all the issues. Each agent has his or her "preference" on everything! There is no "one size fits all" with the agents. So this book will allow actors to better market themselves.

And I firmly believe more people would book more through agents if they didn't make so many mistakes!!

This book will not only be a resource for the actors, but it will also help out the agents in that it will hopefully cut down the number of bad submissions and bad habits actors might have.....without even knowing it!

Sounds great. I can't wait.

P.S., When are you bringing your one-man show to Broadway (or someplace in the NY/NJ area).

Joe, I like the way you think!!!

Just need a theater interested in booking it. I think Broadway is a tad ambitious, but I appreciate the thought.

I'm happy with off, off, off, off Broadway. I'll take Jersey!!!!!!!

Hi Bob,

Yes, I would likely buy your book. I like a lot of what you're planning to include & I've found the stuff you've shared to be highly useful. Also, you seem to be a darn great guy who's really good with the wordsmithing!!

:-)

Not yet. My lit agent hasn't secured a publisher yet. That's why I asked for feedback here. VO is very foreign to the outside world, and I don't think most publishers understand the importance of the agent in a voice actor's career. OR that most actors are lost when it comes to what's involved in the world of a VO agent. And since every agent is different, a resource that lays out exactly what each agent is looking for in the way of talent is invaluable to anyone pursuing VO. Especially since technology has opened up pursuing VO to people anywhere in the country.

Red face

It sounds great to me Bob. But, it would be cool if you could include a section on overseas agents as well. -- specifically the London area -- but you could venture further if you wanted to. But, that might not be a good idea as it might make the project too large? I don't know. Just a thought.
