Default Thanks To All Who Helped Out...

Just want to take a moment to thank my VO Bros & Sistahs who helped out with a donation for this years MS150 bicycle ride from San Antonio to Corpus Christi, TX. It was 160ish miles of headwinds on up hill routes coupled with high temperatures. The second day still had the strong headwinds, but the temps were cooler. It was also 3200 people supporting each other supporting a cause they believe in...

I can not thank you enough for your help.

The photo was taken just before the beginning of the first day well before I decided I would opt out of the additional eight mile route to make it an even 101 miles on the first day....maybe next year.

Do you have a larger photo? I need it for V-ZINE which goes to bed this week.

Hey Scoot, How much moolah did you raise?
Did my "match" challenge help at all?

Thanks for peddling 160 miles for a good cause. I get tired if I have to go shopping and do the laundry on the same day.

Hi JS
Did you post the match here? I only saw it on another site.

Scott, we'd love to know how much raised, and particularly, how much response from the VO community!

Julie

Julie
My final tally of donations was $935.00. Considering that I only registered and began e-mail only fund-raising the Monday before the ride, I was very pleased with the money raised.

As to who gave what, the breakdown is most humbling. Complete strangers to me; the VO community from Julies Forum and a noted author of horror/mystery novels, contributed the lions share of funds. I won't go into dollars and cents values, but it was considerable. The donations were larger than from friends and family and there were more of them. I told my wife after the ride when I began to tally what's had been donated that it is a very humbling experience to have people I've never met be so giving.

I can not begin to thank the VO friends from this site, and the other site, for their generosity. Thank you doesn't seem enough. But thank you is all I have.

Thank you

I know what you mean, Scott.
The first year I did the Century Ride for The Leukemia Society I was blown away that friends gave $5 and clients gave $100, $250 and $500!
I had to raise $2100 and ended up with about $2700...

and the second year... I had to raise $2300 and ended up with about $3100.

In fact, I looked at my Team in Training supporter list... almost 100 people sponsored my ride last June! A LOT of them were clients and voice talent.

I had longer to raise funds, though.

I posted my "match" on the other site and then I saw that the ride had already started and there were no other comments after mine, so I wasn't sure about the whole thing. I went ahead and gave the whole amount anyway, but if it got somebody else to pony up even $5 then I'm happy. I hope it didn't chase anyone away or seem too inappropriate. If I'm going to be inappropriate, I'd like it to be for soemthngthat doens't hurt a charity.

Some day I might need help, so I'm glad that for at least today, I can be the one helping.
