This may be slightly off topic, or innappropriate, but I'm going to do it anyway.
Once again I am going to participate in this years MS 150 bicycle ride from San Antonio to Corpus Christi. The ride begins Saturday Oct. 20th in San Antonio and concludes the following afternoon in Corpus Christi. A total of about 164 miles. The riders spend Saturday night in Beeville, before continuing on to Corpus. It's a ride I've done on two previous occasions, and one that is very special to many for personal reasons. One of the requirements is for each rider to collect and contribute a certain amount of money, which then goes to research into the cause, and a hoped for eventual cure of Multiple Sclerosis. On November 30th, all contributions have to be turned over to the MS organization. My interest in this is due to the rapid decline in my uncles health due to MS several years ago. A disease he eventually died from. So now I ride one or two MS 150 rides a year and help collect what I can. I'd really appreciate your contribution to this cause. To make it easier for you to donate, I’ve set-up a link through the MS 150 organization so that donations can be made on line using a debit or credit card. Contributions then go directly to the MS foundation. I then get an e-mail that a donation has been made. It’s a simple three step operation, and you get a receipt for your tax records. Next week, after the recovery, I'll drop a note here thanking those who contributed, and give the short version of the ride. The only thing I'm hoping for is that it doesn't rain the way it did in 2004 when it rained for most of the first day. I don't mean drizzle rain. I mean driving rain falling sideways with drops the size of small puppies. But it was fun. And a good cause. When you have time today, please visit http://www.ms150.org/edon.cfm?id=206814 and contribute what you can. I thank you, and so do those unknown to you… |

Hey Scoot,
That is a good cause. A friend of mine in the DFW area rides in it every year... come to think of it, I've got several friends who ride in it! Hope you have a great ride - stay dry, and hydrated ;-) Joe J Thomas Joe J. Thomas Acting Portfolio |

Hey Scoot!
I will DEFINITELY give to the cause! I do AMerica's Most Beautiful Bike Ride around lake Tahoe and then some (100 miles) for the Leukemia Society every year... Haev raised just under $10,000 to date for them. Please don't ever hesitate to post something like this here. I am HONORED to be able to help! I'm going to link right now. God bless... it's awesome what you're doing! Please send me your photo to julie@voice-overs.com so I can post this in the V-ZINE too, for November. No one from it gave to my ride in June, but we've doubled in readership since then.

I think the problem with the original link had something to do with my writing and posting the message thru my office internet. When clicking on the link it tried to go thru the same server, which is why the log-on information was requested. Sorry about the confusion.... |
