I just got a private invitation to submit on a project.
But what's weird is I'm no longer a premium member. And I thought Standard member profiles were not searchable. Hmmmm. I suppose it's possible that the seeker navigated to my Voice123 profile through some link I have to it somewhere else. And I suppose once someone has found the page, they can invite you. Or perhaps they had found me previously, when I was searchable, and made me a "preferred voice" or somehow bookmarked me. Either that, or there's a glitch in the system and I'm still searchable. Interesting, whatever it is. It's the only private lead I've gotten since the switch to SmartCast, and it's nearly three weeks since my subscription expired. Neither here nor there, just interesting. We'll see if I get the gig... ![]() Alexis |

As far as I know, that is how Voice123 has always been. Non-premium members have always been able to receive private leads. But the vast majority of leads are public and, while non premium members can view them, only premium members can answer them. I'm pretty sure seekers have always been able to search through all profiles. Most of them just don't bother.

Yes. They have had that all along. You can be on there and receive leads. But being found isn't easy. In order to receive leads to audition by most clients (who don't have time to search...they just want to post and have talent come to them) you have to be a paid member.
Good luck with the audition, Alexis.

If you browse voice talent by name in alphabetical order, rather than searching, there are literally tens of thousands of profiles. Just the As and Bs added up to well over 8,000 names. But if you use the search function, the total number of searchable profiles if you put *no* limiting factors whatsoever on it is about 3,800. So who are the literally thousands upon thousands of profiles you *can't* search?
Just wondering... And if I can still receive private leads without paying for premium membership, and that's really the only way I ever made money there before, then there's even less than zero reason to pay $395 now that SmartCast is in the picture. I debated doing it just to be searchable for private leads, and that would have been the only reason to do so, and now it turns out I'm searchable anyway? Glad I saved my cash. Alexis |

Yeah $295 is a lot, but at least now you can get free exposure:

Hi Everyone,
JULIE WILLIAMS HERE... posing as audiogal... Testing because she's been unable to post... I think I fixed it. Anyway... you can get some leads with a free account on voice123, but I highly recommend the paid one. Honestly, I dont' like the SmartCast system, but I'm not making less than before. And most clients wont' just search through thousands of names to find you. It DOES happen... I got a big job that way... but I got a lot of repeat clients I wouldn't have through the regular premium paid membership. Julie Williams (hijaking audiogal's name for time being!)

I cannot bring myself to renew with voice123 again due to the fact the once the lead is sent no matter how fast I produced the vo and uploaded it, there were already 75-150 members who had already answered the lead. I'm sure many of the clients never even heard my auditions since they were buried. There has to be a better way.
